5th Snow of the 2021 / 2022 Winter

The snow started off as heavy rain with a little bit of lightning around 11 PM local time (MST), and then turned to snow after midnight.

It looks like we will be getting about 1-2 inches tonight.

First Snow of the 2020 / 2021 Winter

Albuquerque’s first snow day of the 2020 / 2021 winter season is upon us, about 60 days before the official start of winter (21 December) —

The one thing I absolutely hate about snow is driving through it.

It seems as though every idiot, imbecile, and moron in Albuquerque picks snow days to go for a drive across town.

Aside from that, I love snow days. They’re the one thing that I miss from Pennsylvania.

Quote of the Day for Sunday, 12 January 2020

Isn’t it funny how liberals tell YOU that you can’t have a valid opinion of climate change because “you aren’t a scientist,” and yet they make climate heroes of a former Tenn. politician whose only qualification is that his father was a Senator, a bunch of Hollywood actors who have no qualifications at all, and a 16-year-old kid who has openly admitted she is skipping school.

So Where’s the SNOW?!

Current mood: annoyed

Since Friday, I’ve been hearing from various people that, not only is the snow coming, but that a blizzard is imminent, and “We’re gonna get it!”

So far, I haven’t seen a single snowflake in Albuquerque. True, some areas in the East Mountains have gotten some, but those areas are also at higher altitudes than Albuquerque.

All I’ve seen in town is the usual New Mexico winter weather — wind, clouds, and “cold” temperatures (it rarely gets below 20°F here).

This just reinforces what I’ve been thinking for years — forget the hairspray heads on TV with their Doppler radar and airport weather stations. The best weather report you’ll get is the one you see when you look outside through your front porch window in the morning.
