What part of Article II, Section 6 of the NM State Constitution is Tim Keller unwilling to understand?

No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms. (As amended November 2, 1971 and November 2, 1986.)

If Keller is a true believer in these sorts of victim disarmament policies, then why doesn’t he reassign his APD protective detail to street patrol, or one of the detective squads?

Why doesn’t Keller rely on nothing more than his cell phone and a T-shirt saying “NO GUNS ALLOWED AROUND ME” for his personal defense?

Where exactly in the Constitution is it specified? (I couldn’t find it, but maybe some “educated,” “scientific” Democrat can find it.)

    Article, Section, and clause, please?

Somehow the homeless camp at the Coronado Dog Park (3rd and I-40 NW in Albuquerque) hasn’t been deemed any sort of violation of the “public health order,” despite the fact that most of them don’t seem to be wearing any sort of mask. Nor are any of them “social distancing” or the ban on more than five people congregating together enforced, by APD, BCSO, NMSP, or anyone else.

Speaking of the homeless, why are there any of them left? Why hasn’t the Beer Bug wiped them all out? They don’t practice good sanitation, they drink, they use drugs, they don’t use masks, they don’t “social distance,” etc.

Are they going to meet the 35 new agents at the airport at the gate as those agents exit the aircraft?

PS: If you get the opportunity, check out the “Center for Peace and Justice” at 202 Harvard SE — chances are that just about every lefty-fascist whackjob group in the greater Albuquerque area will at least drop their brochures there — excellent resource for anyone wanting to gather intel on those groups.

This article might as well have been written by Bloomberg’s astroturf “Everytown” outfit, considering that Klein uses quite a few of that organization’s talking points:

“I totally agree with City Councilor Sena, ACLU Director Simonson and Mayor Keller. I only wish they would show up at the next protest and ‘peacefully and lovingly’ tell those people in these pictures to put their guns away. These are armed protesters in Seattle and Louisville, Kentucky. Albuquerque doesn’t want their weapons of war on our streets.”

“Take another look at the weapons these militia members are carrying. I am sure most of them have armor piercing bullets that will shred a police car, fire truck or ambulance.”

“When you hear media accounts of how violent America’s police are, as compared to the United Kingdom and other first world countries, you must recognize that in America most people have weapons of war under their beds. In those other countries these weapons are prohibited.”

“Of the 1,000 people who are killed yearly by American officers, the majority are armed with firearms, and many are armed with these weapons of war.”

“Until we can make America a utopia of love, flowers, and ice cream shops, we must recognize that America has a love affair with guns, a lot of them military grade. These guns are in the hands of some very violent young men.”

Agreed, Mr. Krangle — gun control is being safe, proficient and judicious in using your firearm.

What the “gun control” (now “gun safety” or “gun reform” as they call themselves at present) advocates are after is more properly called *victim disarmament,* as the only people who will really be disarmed are those who need firearms for self-defense the most — the 5’0″ 100-pound woman who’s being stalked by her crazed 6’0″ 200-pound ex-boyfriend. But since she didn’t make out that check for 10 grand to the DNC-affiliated super-PAC, who cares about her, right?

Completely bailing from Facebook might not be the best move at present, as some members won’t make the transition to the new platform.

Last night’s temporary disappearance of the group looks to have been some sort of technical glitch.

I suggest setting up similar groups on other platforms for when the Facebook admins do decide to crack down on its presence here, so that there is an alternate already in place and ready to go. Also, the group might pick up new people who want nothing to do with Facebook, but are otherwise compatible with the group.

My late FIL would have said our governor barks and chases cars. He lived in a much more direct, less politically correct time.

I read this article with disbelief. Michelle Wuhan Grisham has threatened to remove mayors from office if they do not follow her public health order. She does not have the power to do that, so the threat must be that she is going to work against their reelections. That will go over like a lead balloon. Her nagging, lecturing, and admonishing New Mexicans as if our concerns for our livelihoods are childish and unimportant next to her political ambitions has already lost her a great deal of respect among New Mexicans. An emergency does not erase the Bill of Rights. Nor does it empower governors to take away our businesses without compensation. In fact, a government official cannot take our property without just compensation. That’s in the bill of rights.

Perhaps MWG does not understand what a governor is. A governor is a piece in a machine that controls the pace of its working. For example, a timing belt in an automobile. It must work with the other machine parts to ensure a smooth ride. When a governor goes full tyrant, it can tear the machine apart, destroying its function. To protect the machine, the owners must remove the faulty governor and replace it with one that works in harmony with other parts of the machine. This is what we need to do in New Mexico. And the sooner the better.

The purpose of government is not to make us safe. That is our job. The purpose of government is to keep us free. Adults do not need lectures from a governor who has assumed the role of dictator, and treats her bosses as if they were her recalcitrant children.

We need a revolution. Look to your sheriffs to protect your rights, New Mexico. And tell your county officials what you expect them to do in the face of MWG’s temperamental tyranny. Stand for your rights.

“so if the state robs and steals from you, is it ok to liberate the same value of the theft from any government property available for the taking.”

If you dress yourself up such that the federal gunslinger types mistake you as one of their own, sign out an M240 LMG or MP-5 SMG from their arms room, then walk it out to your car and disappear it into your rainy decade stash, more power to you.

Helping the “anti-fascist” Antithugs burn down buildings? Not so much — you’re on your own there, as far as I’m concerned.

For the record, Heinlein wasn’t fond of labels. He preferred to deal with people as individuals, and to be addressed as an individual, if I recall correctly.

I don’t worry too much about what to call myself, or what others call me.

I’ve been called a “Nazi,” a “Communist,” a “faggot,” and a “homophobe” at various points in my life.

Position: David Brin claims that the political “left” “CONTAINS” a few whackjobs, while the political “right” “CONSISTS” of nothing but whackjobs. Thus, whenever Brin claims to be seeking “common ground” with those holding opposing viewpoints, he’s not being sincere, and should not be taken seriously.
