Let the government employees getting the pay raises pay the taxes needed to keep the “free everything for everyone” welfare state afloat.

The Communist Cosplayers can demand til doomsday, for what it’s worth. They’re not exactly in the best position to be issuing demands if they expect those demands to be actually met.

I wrote this in response to the LPNM’s resolution to disaffiliate. Bring it on!

If a state disaffiliates, so what? They lose what little political influence they have.

What we have here is an ongoing attempt to remake the LP into the image of something it is not. It has been ongoing since at least the 2008 election, and some would argue, since the 2006 Portland Massacre. We saw it in spades when we had a socialist run for chair at the 2018 convention, standing on the platform with a raised fist of power.

And the demand that the LP could and should make a an accord with socialism. Fortunately, for our Liberty, the delegates squashed that movement.

Libertarianism is a radical idea in the best sense. It demands that we give no quarter to those who would give up their liberty for short-term gains. The purpose of running elections at the beginning was not to win elections, but to spread liberty.

Our founders established the statement of principles. It is, as Cary Ann Harlos wrote, the nuclear option. If the party throws out its radical roots, it will cease to exist as the organization we know, love, and fight over. And that is as it should be. If the party morphs into some wonder-bread version of the old parties, it will no longer be Libertarian.

But libertarianism without the organization will go on. It existed before 1971 and it will exist until some new generation picks up the torch.

Use the roads surrounding the Roundhouse as the track.

If a few legislators get hit, that’s their problem.

A scene like that is when Mr. Po-lice Man will roll up and cite them both for open container violations, drinking in public, and whatever else comes to mind.
