Why the “social workers, housing and homelessness specialists, and violence prevention coordinators” can’t be attached to AFR or APD on an as-needed basis is beyond me.

But hey, when the existing City departments can’t get the job done, feel free to create another one out of thin air!

How many people who are connected to Keller or his buddies will be hired to staff this new department?

As for “defunding” APD, chances are that whatever funds taken away from this year’s budget will be replaced and then some for next year’s budget.

I for one would like to know what City department(s) Keller will be shutting down to make room in the budget for this new department?

Some so-called libertarians are confused by the romance of getting one’s way with the point of a gun. Here is a primer on Black Lives Matter, the organization that needs to be distinguished from the truism that black lives matter equally to every person’s rights.

Black Lives Matter, the organization, is not libertarian in the least. It is a violent, Marxist organization with an anti-liberty philosophy. This was clearer before they sanitized their Facebook, but it is still there for people who have the eyes to read and an understanding of what rights are. The Libertarian Party cannot play nice with these people and expect to retain our liberty.

The idea that black lives matter is a truism. Of course they do, and in the cases where police brutality occur it needs to be said.

Libertarians do not need Marxist or other totalitarian talking points to know that or act on it. We support the right of each person to his or her own life, liberty, and property. Any organization that promotes the destruction of property or claims that certain individuals do not have rights because of who their ancestors were, or what their skin tone is, is not libertarian, and any so-called libertarian who supports them is either confused or disingenuous.

Black Lives Matter, the organization has hijacked the issue that individual black lives do matter, in order to spread their hatred of liberty and their plan for a totalitarian society that they believe they will rule. Libertarians cannot support this.

The LP must not get used by such an organization. We can and should condemn police brutality as a violation of individual rights, AND at the same time, condemn the destruction of anyone’s property as the violation of individual rights.

As for the destruction of public monuments, the problem is still clear. Groups can own things together, and destruction of those things is still violence. We should not support it. At the same time, we should support the movement of those problematic monuments out of shared space into museums that can place them in their historical contexts, so we can teach them the context. This will take time, and intellectual effort that transcends slogans and the point of a gun. It is worth doing. Tearing down an entire society and replacing it with either chaos or Marxism is not an option for libertarians — whether big or small L.

    I support the Second Amendment, but . . . .

But even if it were repealed tomorrow, by unanimous votes of the full U.S. House, the full U.S. Senate, and all the full memberships of all fifty state legislatures, with supporting resolutions from every municipal and county body in the nation, the right that it’s supposed to protect — the civil, Constitutional, human, individual right to own and carry weapons — doesn’t go away one bit.

If anything, that’s when you need to own weapons and be proficient in their use the most.

What sort of lawsuit needs to be filed against Baldy to put a stop to this?!

He wants to act as an attorney for the DNC on his own time and his own dime, that’s fine — it’s his cash and life to waste.

When he signs these letters and briefs as “Hector Balderas, NM Attorney General,” he’s implying that he represents everyone in New Mexico.

From 1959 to 1969, the #poverty rate was nearly cut in half while government did little to address poverty.

However, after the war on poverty was fully implemented in the early seventies, progress stopped.

Fifty years of federal anti-poverty programs — zero impact. Government anti-poverty programs don’t work.

The real cure for poverty is a vibrant economy that generates plentiful jobs and high wages, combined with an affordable cost of living.

As President, I will work to eliminate policies that cripple economic growth. I will give special attention to regulations driving up the cost of housing and health care, as well as those creating barriers to creating new businesses or entering professions. Finally, I will work to repeal laws and regulations that prevent individuals and charitable organizations from helping those in need.

“I CAN’T LOOT THOSE PEOPLE’S STUFF AND I’M MAD”

Fellow members of the Productive Class, allow me to present to you the core constituency of the Political Classholes.

While I’m sure that the person in the video clip probably wouldn’t be welcome at most if any of the cocktail parties on the DC circuit, the state capitals, or major metropolitian regions, still, she does rather nicely sum up the attitude that they display towards the rest of us — “We should be able to take your stuff when we feel like it.”

If ANYTHING on the internet should convince you of the importance of the right to own and carry weapons, it’s that clip right there.

I suspect that while Howie might be more approachable and less dictatorial where temperament is concerned, on the issues, he’s still in hip-deep with the DNC and its water carriers here in New Mexico. I’d love to be proven wrong here, but I don’t think that he would have been picked for the Lieutenant Governor spot if that’s indeed the case.

Dan Valdez — every last bit of the welfare state that transfers wealth from those that earned it to those that didn’t earn it.

If you actually cared about the people that are supposed to be helped by it, you would want it to be changed from a series of bloated, bureaucratic legalized vote-buying schemes to a bunch of 501-c-3 type non-profits that are forbidden in their charters from accepting any tax money or lobbying government bodies for anything.

Let’s see how much you actually do care about the poor, the homeless and the disabled.
