Did the Johnson campaign get this IN WRITING from the Office of the Secretary of State? IF NOT, we still need that five percent.

The LPNM has been screwed before because prospective candidates and party officers took verbal comments from county clerks and the Secretary of State’s people as fact and law. Then when those comments turned out to be false for whatever reason, the courts told us, “Too bad. What you were told is contrary to what’s actually written down in the Election Code.”

We’ve even had people take camcorders (Gary Miles, Charles Mellon) into the Sandoval County Clerk’s office to record those sorts of comments, and the clerk at the time, Sally Padilla, called the Sheriff’s Office on them, back in 2000.

As for the five percent, the LPNM has been down that road, too. In 1998, the late Maurice McDonald ran for State Land Commissioner, and received about nine percent, which was about five or six percent of the total number of votes cast in that year’s gubernatorial race (Johnson’s second as governor, matter of fact). The next year (1999), we ran a voter registration drive, complete with paid registrars and a booth at the State Fair.

Because Hillary and the DNC care SO MUCH about the Constitution and Bill of Rights, correct?

    I’ll take 12-13 % as a decent return.

If the LP didn’t have a candidate on the ballot this year, I would have filed a Declaration of Write-In Candidacy, then wrote in Dumpster Fire for president and vice president.

And YES, Dumpster Fire will be there for us in 2018 and 2020.

Jamie Bronstein — When the 2020 DNC presidential candidate publicly and explicitly says, “Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks,” then I’ll take that affirmation seriously. Until then, not a chance.
