A planet-sized superweapon that blows up after being hit by a few fighter planes? No wonder he’s giving the damn thing away. That’s like an aircraft carrier that sinks after some al-Qaeda idjit shoots the side with his AK-47.

    The 501st Legion

As a fan of Star Wars, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he is giving away a fully operational Starkiller Base. What you may not have heard is that he plans to give it away to loyal Imperial subjects like YOU! All you have to do is copy and paste this message into a post IMMEDIATELY and tag 501 of your friends. At midnight intergalactic standard time, Facebook will search through the day’s posts and award one person with this multi-planet-destroying space station. Such a powerful vehicle for connection and bringing order the galaxy.

Edit: We have heard that this may be a hoax, but it can’t hurt to share it anyway, right?

As for the carbon cultists, they aren’t interested in facts, they’re interested in public subsidies for their solar panels and windmills. For the ones who truly believe the spin, I don’t bother trying to convince them, I simply offer them a plastic bag and ask when they’re going to lead by example, as in to quit exhaling the stuff.

“It’s not acceptable, sure, but make sure you hold that same standard to those on your side of the isle.”

Surely you jest? This is, after all, WWE-style politics, where the sins of the opposition are perfectly OK when it’s “your” side that does them.

Just like Republicans signed off on Slick Willard Romney creating the template for Obamacare in Massachusetts back in 2006, or Slick Willard signing an “assault weapon” ban in 2004, or . . . .

I prefer up-front enemies than back-stabbers professing friendship. Romney, McCain, the Bushes, Christie, Heather Wilson are examples of the latter.

Get yourself a Dell or Toshiba laptop from Craigslist — if it’s got a bad keyboard or screen, there are YouTube clips showing how to swap out parts, and the parts can be ordered from eBay. If the Windoze install is buggy, simply install Linux (I recommend Linux Mint) over top of it. LM 17.2 can do just about anything Windoze can.

The Toshiba Satellite C55D I’m typing this on is a case in point — it took me less time and money to get a new keyboard from China (across the Pacific) than it took the State of New Mexico to send me my renewed driver’s license from Santa Fe (~ 60 miles away) — I ordered both within minutes of each other. Swapping out the new keyboard for the old one took me all of five (5) minutes. The only tools required were a pocketknife (used one of my collection of multi-tools) and a Philips-head screwdriver.

Exactly the point I should have made. Wayne Allyn Romney was a Big-L Libertarian up til September 2012 — he had an LP membership card in his pocket, was on a number of LP leadership committees, yet was willing to throw away the Non-Aggression Principle to make brownie points with the GOP.

What separates America from, say, the UK or Russia or China or Japan is that ordinary Americans from that bottom 160 million have a better chance of being the 13th or 14th wealthiest American than ordinary folks in other places.

Most of the Democrats and about 50 % of Republicans work, whether they know it or not, to lessen those chances every time they demand a new law or regulation interfering in the market.

What disgusts me is that quite a few of them are perfectly OK with those shrinking chances, just so long as they get their warm fuzzy for the hour that they “did something” and “made a difference.”

Mark Panozzo — Weapons “that can spray 800 rounds in 60 seconds” are already heavily restricted, and have been so since 1934.

“For example, if we stop selling guns like the AR-15 to the general public tomorrow, . . .”

Who’s this “we” here? Why should I go along with this?

“. . . why would that be offensive to responsible gun owners?”

Responsible gun owners realize that the firearm is an inanimate object, regardless if it’s a .22 LR bolt-action rifle or an M240 machinegun.

Responsible gun owners realize that the cosmetics of a firearm don’t matter all that much when it comes to a given weapon’s ballistic lethality, and that the .223 Remington round fired by the AR-15 is on the low end where centerfire rifle cartridges are concerned.

I for one am excited about developments such as the 80% AR-15 lowers, Cody Wilson’s Ghost Gunner desktop CNC machine, 3D printing, the fact that you can make an AK-47 using a shovel as raw material for the receiver (search for it on DuckDuckGo or Startpage) . . .

The hoplophobes and victim disarmers always forget these points:

    1. The United States has 12,000 miles of basically unenforceable borders. If people can be smuggled in and cars smuggled out routinely, how can they stop guns from coming in?
    2. There are hundreds of millions of firearms in America’s existing stockpiles, with more being added every day. I doubt that people panic-buying guns for the past few years intend to turn them in.
    3. America has the world’s largest stockpiles of precision machine tools. You can order a lathe or CNC machine and have it delivered to your home, with the only paperwork being the sales slip, if you have the FRNs available to you. Add in the Ghost Gunner I mentioned above . . . And that sort of tech is only going to get cheaper and more versatile as time goes on.
    4. Surveys of cops and military personnel consistently yield results showing 60-70 percent of them to be on our side to a large degree. Add to this the fact that the “fusion centers” in various states are parroting the DHS / SPLC line labeling veterans as “potential terrorists.”
    5. Most of America’s food production takes place in areas friendly to gun ownership.
    6. To go from one part of “Gun Free America” (really Hoplophobatopia) to another (the “liberal” states and big cities), they have to traverse the gun-friendly turf.
